Event Details

"Ride 4 Their Lives" is a 25 mile bicycle event on May 20, 2011 to educate, empower and protect children of the River Valley. Cyclists will ride to eleven Ft. Smith area elementary schools to reinforce the safety message that was presented to students in the weeks preceding the event. At each school, there will be a brief “parking lot party” with music provided by the Jambulance, give aways, celebrity mc’s from Channel 5, and a chance for the cyclists to interact with the kids. There will also be snacks and drinks provided for the riders at the stops, as well as a quick picnic lunch afterwards. The ride will be escorted by the Fort Smith Police Department.

This local program is in honor of National Missing Children's Day and "Take 25" an annual educational event presented by the Morgan Nick Foundation  and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Proceeds will benefit the Morgan Nick Foundation. The focus of this day will be to remember all of Arkansas’ missing children, to increase public awareness of the plight of all missing and exploited children and the need for child safety education.

Morgan Nick Foundation

The Morgan Nick Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that was formed in the tragic aftermath of the abduction of  6-year-old  Morgan Nick. Morgan’s mother, Colleen Nick, formed the Morgan Nick Foundation in an effort to recover missing children across the country. MNF also serves as a support team to the many families of missing children. A MNF Case Manager works with families and serves as a    liaison to law enforcement agencies. MNF believes that to reduce the number of child abductions in the future, we must educate our children and empower them with the skills necessary to protect them from the possible dangers of abduction. MNF provides a support network to parents and families of all missing children, with our focus on intervention and education.
